Peru
Join Margaret and Ken Reek as we take you to Peru. Starting in Lima, we learn about the coca plant and visit a shanty town. Then we spend a week on the Amazon River where we fish for piranha, eat giant grubs, and see how to make a dugout canoe. Our trip ends at Machu Picchu, with its amazing Inca craftsmanship, where we see the famous Inca Trail. With photos of the people, birds and animals, and plants, you’ll feel like you were there.

Stopover Migratory Habitat Project
For the past three years volunteers have been visiting locations along Lake Ontario from Buffalo to Syracuse and in the Finger Lakes in the spring and fall to monitor neotropical migratory bird usage of forested areas. Hundreds of hours were spent collecting data on these sites to help biologists from Audubon New York and The Nature Conservancy better understand what type of habitat the birds are using. This information will be used to determine which areas need to be conserved to continue to offer quality migratory stopover habitat for birds in the future. David Klein of The Nature Conservancy will tell us about the analysis of the data and how we can help preserve these important areas.
